GERMANY - Watson Wyatt has appointed Jens Witt of Aon’s German consulting subsidiary to the new position of managing consultant for its Munich office as it expands in Germany.

Witt joined yesterday from Aon Jauch & Huebner. “He brings a wealth of experience to our fast growing actuarial and benefits consulting team in Germany,” said Babloo Ramamurthy, European head of benefits consulting at Watson Wyatt. Aon Jauch & Huebner said Witt was area leader for the firm.

Ramamurthy also said that Witt would “play a key role, as managing consultant of the Munich operations, in helping to develop an integrated service offering and building market share in this important market".

His appointment is part of Watson Wyatt's expansion plans in Germany, the company said in a statement. More appointments will come in the next months, said a spokesman.

In October the firm, which already had a human capital consulting practice based in Duesseldorf, launched Watson Wyatt Deutschland GmbH in Munich to meet growing demand as the country embarked on pension and healthcare reform.

Watson Wyatt also established an insurance and financial services consulting practice in January.

Barbara Renn, a member of the board of directors at Aon Jauch & Huebener Consulting, will acts as interim area leader until Witt’s successor is named, a spokesman for Aon Jaunch & Huebener Consulting said.

Witt is a member of the Association of Actuaries in Germany and Austria.
