GLOBAL – Pensions consultant Watson Wyatt has named Philip Brook to replace Nick Dumbreck as its global practice head for insurance and financial services consulting.

“Philip Brook becomes global head of the insurance and financial services consulting practice at Watson Wyatt on January 1 2003,” said Watson Wyatt in a statement. “He also becomes a member of the European executive management group from the same date.”

Brook was previously head of Watson Wyatt's international insurance and financial services consulting businesses outside the UK.

Dumbreck now reverts to a full-time consulting role within the firm – a move that Watson Wyatt says is in line with its policy of limiting tenure in a senior management position to a maximum of six years.

"Nick has made a significant contribution to the growth and development of insurance and financial services consulting at Watson Wyatt, and he leaves a solid foundation which Philip is well placed to build on for the future," said the firm’s managing partner Alan Whalley.

Brook joined the firm in 1991 and became a partner in 1992, after working for M&G Re for 12 years.
