Watson Wyatt’s Sweden MD leaves amid revamp

SWEDEN – Erik Linder-Aronson, managing director of Watson Wyatt’s Stockholm office, has left the firm amid a restructuring of the firm’s benefits consulting team in Sweden.

Linder-Aronson left two weeks ago and is being temporarily replaced by senior consultant Arne Genschou. Watson Wyatt is in the process of recruiting a new managing director, a spokesman said.

He added that Linder-Aronson left following an “arrangement” with the firm. Asked whether other departures would follow, the spokesman said: “It is subject to negotiations”.

He explained the firm would be in talks with various staff members in the office, but declined to comment further.

Linder-Aronson told IPE he would be taking some time off to think about his options, although he would remain in consulting. “I have been in the business for 20 years,” he said. He confirmed he left after a deal with Watson Wyatt but declined to discuss the terms.

IPE reported earlier this month that the firm was restructuring the office. The change will see some staff being based in the UK. Watson Wyatt stressed at the time that its commitment to the Swedish market was unchanged.

Some team members would be based in Stockholm with others based at the firm’s main European centre in Reigate outside London. Linder-Aronson’s successor will be based in Stockholm, the spokesman confirmed.
