Qatar Financial Centre Authority - Bob Wigley has been appointed as a non-executive director, joining from Merrill Lynch's EMEA operation, where he served as chairman, and Yell Group, where he was also chairman. In his new role, he will be responsible for promoting Qatar to the global fund management industry as a regional hub for asset management. UK prime minister David Cameron appointed Wigley ambassador for UK business in 2011.

Pioneer Investments - Michel van Mazijk has been appointed head of institutional business for the Netherlands and the Nordic countries. He joins from ING Investment Management, where he was responsible for the development of the Dutch institutional market for ING's fiduciary proposition. Before then, he was responsible for relationship management and business development of the institutional market in Northern Europe at Vanguard Investments Europe.

Mercer - Infrastructure specialist Toby Buscombe has been hired as a principal in the consultancy's alternatives boutique. Buscombe will be responsible for investment advisory services in infrastructure and private equity. He joins from Australia-based consulting and asset management boutique Access Capital Advisers. Before then, he served as an economist with the New Zealand Department of Labour.

SEB - The company has integrated its alternative investment offering by merging its London boutique Key Asset Management with its alternative investment team in Stockholm. Mikael Spångberg will manage the team in Stockholm, while Chris Rule has been appointed deputy and CIO in London. The changes coincide with the departure of Chris Jones to bfinance.

bfinance - Chris Jones has left his position as CIO of Key Asset Management to become head of alternatives at independently owned consultancy bfinance. Jones is a Fellow of the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge, where he lectures on hedge funds and risk management.

AllenbridgeEpic Investment Advisers - John Arthur has joined the investment adviser to UK pension funds as a senior adviser. He joins from Aerion Fund Management, where he was director of client services and, before then, a fund manager covering UK and international equity markets.
 
Punter Southall - Chris Mapp has been appointed to head up the UK pensions consultancy's operations in Bristol and the West Country. Mapp, who previously ran his own consulting business and worked in senior roles in the insurance industry, was in charge at Bluefin's corporate consulting division in Bristol before joining.

Renaissance Asset Managers - Barbara Rupf Bee has been appointed chief executive at the specialist asset managers, which focuses on emerging Europe, Russia and Africa. She joins from HSBC Global Asset Management, where she was global head of institutional sales. Plamen Monovski has been promoted to president, in addition to his responsibilities as CIO.

BankInvest - Kasper Elmgreen has been appointed head of equities, leading a team of 17 equity fund managers. Elmgreen, who joined BankInvest in 2003, was promoted from his position as deputy head of equities. He is part of the management team for the Global Equities fund and has also been involved in the management of BankInvest Emerging Europe Equity fund.

Riverside - Martin Scott has been appointed a partner at the global private equity firm's London office. He joins from KPMG, where he served as transactions services partner. He has also worked at Crownway Investments in Dublin and McKinsey and Co.
