Credit Suisse Asset Management - Robert Shafir, who has been with Credit Suisse since 2007, has been promoted to chief executive officer of the asset management division, replacing David Blumer, who now works for Swiss Re.

State Street - Maureen Miskovic, previously treasurer at Morgan Stanley in London, has been appointed as State Street's chief risk officer. This is a newly-created senior role and means Miskovic will step down from State Street's board of directors. Moreover, Scott Powers has been named to be president and chief executive officer of State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the company's investment management arm. Powers will join SSgA from Old Mutual US, succeeding James Phalen, who has served as interim president and CEO of SSgA since January 2008.  Phalen will return to his position as head of international operations for State Street's investment servicing and investment research and trading businesses.

Northern Trust Global Investors - Wayne Bowers, until now chief investment officer, has been promoted to chief executive officer of Northern Trust Global Investments, the London-based subsidiary, and multi-asset class investment management business of, Northern Trust. His appointment follows that of Steve Potter, who was recently named president of NTGI.

Fidelity Investments - Martin Harris has resigned as head of UK defined benefit (DB) at Fidelity. The current head of defined contribution (DC), Doug Naismith, is set to assume responsibility for the UK pensions business.

Société Générale Asset Management - Jérôme de Dax was promoted to the new position of head of strategic clients, based in Paris. Laurent Bertiau will replace him as global head of sales and marketing.

Citigroup - Mark Rufeh, who was most recently chief administrative officer for the investment banking group at Credit Suisse,  has been appointed as the chief administrative officer and head of productivity for its institutional clients group, formed in October after the bank combined its markets and banking division with the alternative investments unit.

Rodamco - Hélène Pragt, finance director of Amsterdam-based real estate fund group, is leaving the company.

AonWatson Wyatt's Helen Dowsey has been made a principal in the benefits solutions division. Helen has been appointed to lead Aon's trust and contract-based defined contribution (DC) consulting services.

New Star - Charles Deptford, from Baring Asset Management, and RCM's Trevor Green will be joining New Star at the end of June as UK equity fund managers.

The Bank of New York Mellon - Lombard Risk's Mark Higgins was appointed head of sales and marketing for global collateral management in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.  He is based in London.

Pictet Funds - Wendy Appleton, who headed up third party distribution at Henderson Global Investors for the past three years, will be joining the UK development team of the investment fund distribution arm of Pictet &  Cie on April 17. She will be responsible for strategic partner business, including life companies, wraps and supermarket platforms.

The Pensions Regulator - The members of the Pensions Regulator Determinations Panel, which aims to ensure the separation of the regulator's investigation and decision-making functions, have been reappointed for a second term. Olivia Dickson, Michael Maunsell and Duncan Campbell have been appointed for a further four years, and Dianne Hayter, Suzanne McCarthy, Geoffrey Fitchew and Daniel Taylor for a further five.

Allen & Overy - Neil Bowden has been promoted to pensions partner at the legal firm Allen & Overy in London.
