GLOBAL - Fidelity Investments, SGAM, BNY Mellon, Opal, Schroders, Hermes, Midas Capital, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, CQS.

Fidelity Investments - Michael Wilens will join the Boston-based firm as head of asset management from next month. He  was a member of the executive committee at Thomson Reuters but in his new position, he will oversee Fidelity's three main investment units: Fidelity Management & Research Co, Pyramis Global Advisors and Strategic Advisors.

Société Générale Asset Management - Olivier Lecler has been promoted to become the new chief executive of SGAM Alternative Investments, effective from June 1. He replaces Philippe Brosse, who has left the firm.

BNY Mellon Asset Management - Luke O'Donnell (pictured, right) has left Société Générale Asset Management to join BNY Mellon's UK institutional sales team as senior account manager in the pooled pension & DC Group. Based in London, O'Donnell will report to Ian Harvey, head of pooled pensions.

Schroders - BlackRock's head of UK and European business, Ian Mason, is to lead Schroders Property's UK property business, replacing Tony Brown. He reports to Neil Turner, Schroders' head of global property fund management. Tamsin Frost, institutional client business director, has also been promoted to the new position of head of balanced property funds.

Hermes Private Equity - Peter Gissel has been appointed partner and Mark Nunny is joining as investment managmer. Gissel joins from Nikko Principal Investments where he spent nine years as a principal. Nunny was with KPMG Transcation Services.

Opal - Tony Collins (pictured, right) has been promoted to managing director, having worked at Opal since 2005.

Midas Capital - Nick Pearse has been appointed to the newly-created position of business development manager for the Midlands, following the merger of Midas Capital Partners Limited and iimia MitonOptimal. Pearse previously worked at Miton, with which Midas has recently merged.

Merrill Lynch - UBS' Jeremy Smilg has been appointed to the newly-created position of head of products and wealth solutions for the EMEA Wealth Management (GWM) group. He is based in London.

Morgan Stanley - Michael Samaha has been named co-head of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) sales and business development for Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), based in Dubai. Previously at Lehman Brothers where he was Co-Head of Structuring & Marketing in the Fund Derivatives Group in London, he joins Nicolas Kahale, who has been leading the effort since 2006.

CQS - Former Barclays Capital managing director David Kilgore is the new head of trading in Hong Kong for the specialist in convertible bond arbitrage. CQS is also looking at further expanding its 20-person Hong Kong office and the launch of additional Asia-focused hedge funds is possible.
