GLOBAL - Threadneedle Asset Management, Pioneer, Aegon, Bfinance, Mercer, AXA IM, BNP Paribas.

Threadneedle Asset Management - The asset manager has lost both its head of UK institutional client service and its director to financial institutions with the departure. Tim Lord is moving to Baring Asset Management and Stephen Moore is joining to Julius Baer as head of sales for the UK, where he will focus on expanding UK client relationships with multi managers, fund of funds and insurance companies. Lord was appointed head of client service and relationship development in London at Barings.

Pioneer Investments - Sander van de Giesen (pictured, right) has been appointed as institutional sales manager for the Benelux. He joins from F&C Investments in Amsterdam.

Aegon Global Pensions - Andrew Wood has been appointed regional sales director for the UK, Ireland & Nordic region from September 1. He currently works in the UK for Aegon Scottish Equitable.

Bfinance - Mathias Neidert has joined Bfinance as a senior research associate from RBC Dexia in Luxembourg. In addition to his appointment, the research and development team is also hiring two new analysts, Fredrik Hallberg and Philippe Letscher, starting on August 4 and September 1 respectively. All three will be based in London.

Mercer - Daniel Blass has been appointed as head of client services in Mercer's investment management business. Blass is tasked with supporting the growth of the division. Prior to joining Mercer, he worked for Legal & General Investment Management.

AXA Investment Managers - KBC Alternative Investment Management's Tim Fitch has joined the institutional sales team, focusing on single strategy hedge funds. He started in the newly-created role of director for single strategy hedge fund sales on July 14.

BNP Paribas - Jean Lemierre will join the BNP Paribas Group on September 1 as senior adviser to the chairman. He has just completed two terms as president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), having previously been head of the internal revenue service and then head of treasury at the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance. Julien Cuminet is the new head of global transfer agency (‘TA') and retail, reporting to Philippe Ricard. He joins BNP Paribas Securities Services from Orga Consultants.
