GLOBAL - AP1, Veritas Pension Insurance, Tomlinson Investment Consulting, Gartmore, Liontrust, Sustainable Asset Management, Cardano, Aberdeen Property Investors, LVAM.

AP1 -  Lena Westerlund, chief economist at LO (Landsorganisationen i Sverige), has been appointed by the Swedish government to be a new member of the AP1 Board, replacing Erland Olausson.

Veritas Pension Insurance - Michael Röllich has been promoted from business unit leader to head of sales, reporting to Peter Boström, president and chairman, and joined the management board. Veronica Törnwall has also been appointed investment manager while Ilona Karppinen is portfolio manager. Antti Gripen is now investment risk officer for actuarial services.

Tomlinson Investment Consulting - Richard Tomlinson, former head of multi-strategy products at Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) has launched an advisory boutique to deliver front-office consultancy services to the investment management industry. He specialises in providing advice on the use of managed accounts within hedge fund portfolios.

Gartmore - Matt Pumo is joining this summer as business development director responsible for its UK institutional business, having previously been senior relationship manager at Liontrust Asset Management. He will report to Angus Woolhouse, head of global institutional business.

Liontrust Asset Management - Ian Lewis, formerly head of UK institutional clients at New Star Asset Management, is joining on 1 September in a new role as head of institutional clients. Stephen Watson, institutional marketing director will
take on a new part-time role and support Dick Hoag with North American sales as well as help to develop the company's global equity investment capability. Adrian Collins has also been appointed to the Board as non-executive director and deputy chairman. Bernard Asher will retire as non-executive chairman at an unspecified date and be replaced by Collins.

Sustainable Asset Management - Michael Baldinger will become the new head of clients and distribution from 1 July and join the executive committee. He was previously head of Americas distribution for the asset management division at Credit Suisse.

Cardano - Adelaide de Casson and Darran Specter have joined the consultancy's London-based investment management team as hedge funds specialists. De Casson previously worked for Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank handling risk management for hedge fund clients. Specter was previously part at NewFinance Capital, Schroders' fund of hedge fund operation, as a member of their research and investment committees.

Aberdeen Property Investors - Vittorio Annoni is now head of asset management at the firm's new Italian office in Milan, having joined the company from DEGI in September 2008.

LV= Asset Management - Henry Webber has been appointed fund manager, reporting into Howard Meaney, head of property investment and Charles Maxlow Tomlinson, principal fund manager, to work largely on the Teesside Pension Fund account. He joined from Cushman & Wakefield where he was responsible for direct and indirect acquisitions for a range of pension funds and charitable foundations.
