GLOBAL - Hermes, Barclays UK Retirement Fund, Coal Pension Trustee Services, Carmignac Gestion, Standard Life Investments, Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority, Schroders, Mercer, RCM, Carey Olsen.

Hermes Fund Managers - Fred Cleary has joined the fixed income team as director of government bond. He moved from UBS, where he looked after the trading and research operation for US inflation-linked markets in London and New York.

Barclays UK Retirement Fund - Nick Stacey has been made associate director for the pension fund’s manager selection team.He was previously at Man Group, specialising in event-driven and global macro strategies.

Coal Pension Trustee Services - George Bruce, formerly finance director, has left the pension fund trustee group. A replacement has yet to be named.

Carmignac Gestion - A series of changes have been made at the Paris-based asset management firm. Maxime Carmignac has joined the fund management team as equity fund manager. Keith Ney has returned to his role as global analyst for the management team. Charles Zerah has joined the management team as a fixed income manager, and is responsible for the global bonds fund. And Laurent Chebanier is now country risk analyst for the management.

Standard Life Investments - Steve Weeple has been promoted to managing director for global equities (USA). He was previously head of Standard Life Investments’ US equities team and manages a range of North American equity portfolios.

Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority - Mihaly Erdos has left his role as strategic policy director at the regulatory body.

Schroders - Marina Bottero has been appointed as head of property fund management in Italy. She previously led the investment team at Hines Italy and prior to that worked at Ben Stabili and Jones Lang LaSalle.

Best Trustees - Rachel Tranter and Zahir Fazal has been promoted to directors, increasing the number of people on the Board from six to eight members.

Mercer - Gary Simmons has joined the London office as a client manager and principal, focused in particular on the government sector and HR. He previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a partner working on strategic human resource issues for public and private sector clients in the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East.

RCM - Louise Turner-Smith has joined the research team in London as senior research analyst for UK/Special Situations investments. She previously worked at Morgan Stanley International as a member of their global growth team.

Carey Olsen - The Channel Islands law firm has has made Tim Corfield a partner in the firm. He specialises in banking and finance litigation and corporate disputes, including corporate insolvency and restructuring. He joined the firm in 2005, having previously worked at Wragge & Co.
