GLOBAL - BVV, Pensions Board, State Street, Mercer, Paternoster, AllianceBernstein, ICMA, Sacker & Partners

BVV - Horst Müller, former board member at Dresdner Bank and Allianz, is leaving the €20.9bn BVV Pensionskasse for German bank employees after 18 years on the fund's supervisory board and ten years as its chairman. Heinz Laber, board member at UniCredit Bank in Munich, has been elected to succeed him. Other new members to the BVV's supervisory board are Michael Klaus (Bankhaus Metzler), Hans-Walter Peters (Berenberg Bank), Volker van Rüth (Hauck & Aufhäuser).

Pensions Board - Jane Williams, current managing director of the Sia Group, has joined the Irish regulator as chairperson, replacing Tiarnan O'Mahoney. Williams, whose appointment was announced by minister for social protection Éamon Ó Cuív, has in the past been chair of the small business and services forum.

State Street - Andrew Kuritzkes has been appointed chief risk officer and will assume his role in August. Joining from Oliver Wyman where he was head of public policy, Kuritzkes will report to CEO Jay Hooley and sit on the company's management committee. He holds degrees from Harvard Law school, Cambridge and Yale.

Additionally, Nicholas Bonn has been announced as the head of State Street's securities finance business with the title of executive vice president. Bonn will report to David Puth, execitive vice president and the head of State Street's Global Markets business. He most recently held the position of global head of sales and client development.

Mercer - Le Roy van Zyl joins the company's financial strategy group as a senior consultant. Based in London the former Alexander Forbes and Towers Perrin consultant will advise pension fund trustees and companies on pension fund risk management, as well as asset strategy.

Paternoster - Julie Chakraverty, a former board member at UBS Investment Bank, has joined the insurer as a non-executive director. Chakraverty, who has a background in risk management, has previously also worked for JP Morgan.

AllianceBernstein - Paul Vosper has been hired as a new member of the company's real estate investment committee based in London. Vosper joins from Morgan Stanley Investment Management where he was global chief operation officer for the real estate fund of funds business.

The International Capital Market Association - Gilles Lindental has been named  chair of the ICMA France and Monaco region. Lindental, previously of Louis Capital Markets, will be charged with expanding the group's French membership.

Sacker & Partners - Emma Martin joins the law firm's London office as a solicitor from Jones Day, looking to specialise in pensions law. Martin has experience advising both defined contribution and defined benefit schemes.
