GLOBAL - Mercer, F&C, Henderson Global Investors, Alliance Trust Asset Management, Mirae Asset Global Investments Group

Mercer - Neil Puxley has been hired as a partner in the consultancy's Retirement, Risk and Finance business. He will be based in Edinburgh, where he will advise trustees and companies on pension issues and work on new business development across Scotland. Before joining Mercer, Puxley was a principal for Aon Hewitt and a partner at Watson Wyatt, where he was responsible for its Scottish actuarial team.

F&C - The asset manager has made two new hires to its UK institutional sales team based in London. Simon Bentley has joined as client director, while Simon Mooney has joined as institutional sales director. Bentley joins from UBS Global Asset Management, Mooney from investment consulting firm PSolve Asset Solutions. Separately, F&C has also hired Stuart Hastie from Lloyds Banking Group as an associate director on its private equity funds team.
 
Henderson Global Investors - Ian Davidson has been appointed as senior client director for Henderson's institutional business. He joins from BlackRock, where he was director and account manager responsible for corporate and LGPS local authority pension fund clients. Before then, he was senior relationship manager at Northern Trust Global Investments.

Alliance Trust Asset Management - Barry Keane has been hired as head of institutional business development. He joins from BlackRock, where he was director responsible for developing relationships with institutional clients in the UK and Ireland. Based in Edinburgh, Keane will start in his new position on 5 September.

Mirae Asset Global Investments - Karl Waltré has been appointed as head of the Nordic region as part of the emerging markets specialist's expansion strategy in Europe. He joins from Aviva Investors, where, as business development director, he managed sales with financial institutions, institutional clients and consultants in the Nordic countries and Baltic States. Before then, he was at Russell Investment Group.
