APG - The €300bn Dutch pension asset manager is to appoint Petri Hofsté as chief financial and risk officer. Hofsté will join APG from 1 February 2013, succeeding Peter Kok, who has held the position on a temporary basis. Hofsté is presently employed by the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) as director of the banking supervision division. Before joining the DNB, she worked for ABN Amro bank for five years, where her final position was deputy CFO, and subsequently CFO at the bank's legal successor RBS once the bank was split. Before then, she was a partner at KPMG, working in the area of financial services auditing and international financial reporting.

DNB - The Dutch state has appointed Kees Goudswaard on the supervisory board of pensions supervisor De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) as of 1 October. Goudswaard is a professor of economics at Leiden University, and chaired an advisory committee for the review of the Dutch second-pillar pension system three years ago. Between 1994 and 2008, Goudswaard was a member of the national Social and Economic Committee. According the DNB, Goudswaard has an extensive knowledge of the Dutch pensions system and its stakeholders, government finances and socio-economic issues.

Syntrus Achmea - Johan Cras has been appointed co-head of the fiduciary advisory team, starting from 1 October. He will be reporting to Anton van Nunen, director of strategic pensions management. Previously, Cras served as chief executive and board member for EMEA clients at asset manager Russell Investments. Meanwhile, Francis van Bergenhenegouwen will be heading the account managers at Syntrus Achmea. She joins from Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance, where she was director of investor relations.

Delta Lloyd Asset Management - Gert Zwaan has been appointed head institutional sales and account management. He will focus both on expanding the institutional client base and maintaining existing customer relations. Until recently, Zwaan was employed by Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch (Netherlands), where he shared responsibility for rolling out the fiduciary management proposition. Before then, he held commercial and management positions at, among others, Barclays de Zoete Wedd, Bank Labouchere en Aegon Asset Management.

Achmea - Justus van Halewijn has been appointed head of investment management. From 2003 to 2012, he served as head of investment strategy research at Blue Sky Group. Previously, he worked for eight years at ING Bank, where he started at the risk management department and subsequently served as a senior quantitative equity strategist as of 1999.

Charity Commission - William Shawcross has been appointed chairman of the regulator for charities and foundations in England and Wales. Shawcross, who replaces Dame Suzi Leather, is a writer and broadcaster with experience of the charity sector, particularly in human rights and international aid. A former Sunday Times war correspondent in South East Asia, he has also been chair of Article 19 - the international campaign group for freedom of speech - and a council member of the Disasters Emergency Committee.

UKSIF - John Ditchfield, managing partner of Barchester Green Investment, a firm of independent financial advisers, was elected as a new member of UKSIF's board of directors. David Harris, head of responsible investment at FTSE Group, and Amanda Young, SRI officer at Newton Investment Management, were both re-elected for a second three-year term.

State Street Global Advisors - Greg Ehret has been appointed to the newly created role of global chief operating officer. The position combines sales, product, marketing and operations functions in a bid to strengthen client services and organisational effectiveness. Ehret, currently based in London and a 20-year veteran at the company, will assume the position effective immediately. Mike Karpik, senior managing director, will assume Ehret's current responsibilities as head of the EMEA region. 

Allianz Global Investors - Tobias Pross has been appointed head of institutional clients for Europe. Previously, he was managing director for institutional business development in Germany, and, from 2007 to 2010, he was head of pension markets within AGI. Pross is also a member of the board of Germany's investment manager association BVI and chairman of the supervisory board of Allianz Pension Partners.

Standard Life Investments - Wesley McCoy has rejoined the company as an investment director in the global equities team. Having joined SLI in 1999, he left in 2008 to pursue charity work in Malawi with the Microloan Foundation. Since his return, he has worked at Odey Asset Management on its global multi-asset hedge fund. While at SLI, he was a UK retail and institutional high-alpha manager.

First State Investments - Marc Boudier and Lutz Feldmann will join the infrastructure senior advisers group. Boudier began his career at the French Ministry of Finance in the foreign economic relations department before working as an adviser on international economic affairs. He founded AMB Senior Advisors in 2011, providing support on M&A in the energy sector. Feldmann most recently worked on the management board at E.ON and before then held a senior management position at BP.

Mirabaud - Pierre Pinel has been appointed CIO for balanced mandates and asset allocation funds with the asset management division. He will also hold the position of head strategist for private management. Pinel has more than 20 years' experience in fund management and is a "recognised expert" in private and institutional management, the company said.

Old Mutual Asset Managers - Tim Barker has been appointed head of credit research within the fixed income and macro team. Tim has worked in credit research for more than 20 years, having previously worked for Aviva Investors, Lazard Asset Management and, most recently, Société Générale, where he was head of European credit research.

Skandia - Heidi Elmér has been appointed group chief economist, a newly created position. Elmér joins from Riksbanken, the Swedish central bank, where she was head of market analysis and operations. She will assume her role on 17 September. Her analyses will be used for business development purposes, as well as by advisers and customers, the company said.

Insight Investment - Cathy Braganza has been appointed as a senior credit analyst. She joins from Citi, where she was initially a high-yield analyst and latterly a distressed analyst. Before then, she was a portfolio manager at Saudi International Bank. 

Dalton Strategic Partnership - Eleanor Lee has been appointed as an analyst on the European equities team. She has more than six years' experience in company analysis and M&A. She will be based in London and report to Leonard Charlton, head of the European equity team.

ITM - The independent data, systems and consulting corporate pensions specialist has appointed Cyrus Manecksha joins as head of operations for consulting, Duncan Hollowood as head of operations for systems development and Clive Hamilton as senior business development consultant.

Buck Consultants - Brian McCauley has been appointed senior investment consultant within Buck Global Investment Advisers. McCauley has more than 20 years' experience in investment, more latterly as a consultant at Aon Hewitt.
