Mercurius - Marjolein Sol has been appointed a board member at Mercurius, a pension fund for financial services companies. Last November, Sol left Syntrus Achmea Asset Management, having served as CIO for just over a year. She still is a senior adviser for strategic projects at Syntrus Achmea. Mercurius is likely to be absorbed by the new industry-wide scheme Pecunia, which is scheduled to start in 2014. Mercurius has a coverage ratio of approximately 85%.

Mercer - Jeroen Wilbrink has joined Mercer Investments as head of asset-liability management. Over the last 10 months, he has served as a partner and head of fiduciary business and portfolio solutions at Secor Asset Management. Before then, he worked as director of European liability-driven investment and fiduciary services at F&C, and served in management jobs at Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs.

Deutsche Bank's Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) - Jon Eilbeck has been appointed chief operating officer at AWM, the division created by integrating the bank's existing asset management and wealth management businesses. He was previously COO of Deutsche Bank's global rates and commodities business. He joined the company in 2007 from JPMorgan Chase, where he was chief financial officer and COO for the fixed income businesses in Asia Pacific. He will report to Michele Faissola, formerly head of global rates and commodities and now chair at AWM.

RWC - The three investment teams responsible for managing the Hermes Focus funds are to join asset manager RWC on 1 October. Together, the teams - comprising 12 investment and support staff  - currently manage more than $800m (€610m) in assets for a range of institutional clients. The investment teams will continue to manage the Focus funds - which will be renamed the RWC Focus funds - in their new roles at RWC.

OMERS Private Equity - The private equity arm of the CAD55bn (€43bn) Canadian pension plan has extended its UK team with two new appointments. Isabelle Pagnotta joins as a director and Bryony Marshall as an associate to the fund's London office. Pagnotta joins from Arcapita in London, where she was most recently principal in private equity, focusing on the pan-European mid-cap LBO market and transactions across a broad range of sectors.

Industry Funds Management (IFM) - David Cooper has been appointed investment director of debt investments to lead IFM's expansion into European and UK infrastructure debt. He joins from Barclays, where he was head of the infrastructure and structured project finance team in London. Before then, he worked at RBS and HBOS.

Highland Capital - The Dallas-based fund manager has appointed Jess Larsen as managing director of business development for Europe and the Middle East. In this newly created position, Larsen will be responsible for managing institutional relationships in his coverage areas. He joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London, where he was director of capital introductions. 

Standard Life Investments - Mikhail Zverev has been appointed head of global equities. Before joining SLI, Zverev, who has 14 years' experience in the industry, worked for First State Investments, Schroder Salmon Smith Barney (Citigroup) and Trigon Capital. He will report directly to David Cumming, SLI's head of equities.

Dalton Strategic Partnership - Luca Vaiani has joined as a portfolio manager on Dalton's multi-asset team. He joins from Fondaco SGR, where he managed the Fondaco Global Opportunities fund, a multi-asset absolute return fund. At Dalton, he will form part of a six-strong team involved in managing the Melchior Global Multi-Asset fund.

T Rowe Price - Mark Atkinson has been appointed head of marketing for the EMEA. He will be responsible for driving the institutional and intermediary marketing efforts throughout the region. He joins from AllianceBernstein, where he held a similar role.

Barnett Waddingham - Adrian Cooper has been appointed head of business development for trustee clients, a new role within the firm. Cooper's 23 years of experience includes senior-level business development and marketing roles at Sacker & Partners, Towers Perrin and Clifford Chance.

JLT Investment Consulting - Vathani Waran has been appointed an investment consultant in JLT's London team. She joins from BlackRock Investment Management. Before then, she worked at PSolve and Aon Hewitt.

Talanx Pensionsmanagement - Christian Mähringer has been appointed to the board of management at HDI-Gerling Pensionsmanagement. The company, which provides services relating to company pension provision in Germany, is scheduled to be renamed Talanx Pensionsmanagement on 28 September.

Sciens Fund of Funds Management - John Godden has been appointed head of Sciens's managed account platform. He was previously head of the European business of HFR Asset Management. Before then, he worked at Barclays Capital and BNP Paribas.
