UK - The Welsh £1.26bn (€1.86bn) Rhondda Cynon Taf local authority pension scheme is scouting global equity investment managers for a £215m mandate.

In the official tender contract notice, the fund stated it is looking "to appoint one or more complimentary high performance global equity managers to manage a proportion of the total portfolio."

The notice also says: "The managers in total will manage 17% of the pension scheme, currently equivalent to £215m."

No-one at the fund was available for comment today but the fund is being advised by Hewitt and the time limit for receipt of tenders or request to participate is October 8.

Elsewhere, the £40m pension fund of May Gurney, a company providing maintenance and enhancement services to the highways, rail, utilities and general infrastructure markets, has appointed Punter Southall to provide actuarial and investment advice.

Punter Southall will be working alongside P-Solve Asset Solutions for the mandate.
