UK - Actuaries Buck Consultants have appointed Lane Clark & Peacock's Steven White as its head of investment consulting - replacing Paul Black, who joined LCP earlier this month.

"We are delighted that Steven White will be joining us," said Eddie O'Hara, Buck's managing director in Europe. "This is a key appointment in our expansion plans for the business.

"Steven's experience in the industry will enable us to continue to grow our customer base."

Buck said White was formerly investment partner at LCP. He would focus "on providing innovative, cost-effective advice to pension scheme trustees and sponsors". White will join Buck later this year and be based in London.

White has a PhD in mathematics from Edinburgh University and spent seven years at the Government Actuary’s Department. He joined LCP in 1999 and became a partner in 2002.

A spokeswoman for LCP said he firm “hasn't taken a view yet” about his replacement.

Earlier this month LCP hired Black from Buck to be a partner within its investment team. His departure followed the acquisition of the firm from Mellon Financial Corp. by Affiliated Computer Services earlier this year.

"Paul is well respected in our industry and we are delighted that he has joined our investment team," said LCP partner Mark Nicoll.
