**ZURICH GROOMS REPLACEMENT FOR CFO GOSE**
Zurich Financial Services Group has promoted Thomas Buess, currently CFO Zurich North America, to become deputy chief financial officer with a view to replacing Gunter Gose as the group’s CFO on his retirement in mid 2002.
In a separate hire, James Schiro, the former CEO of PricewaterhouseCoopers becomes chief operating officer - group finance at Zurich.
Peter Eckert will assume the position of chief operating officer – group operations and business development, while Constantine Iordanou, senior executive vice president has left the firm.

**BENSON JOINS TAMESIS**
Robert Benson has been appointed as board director at Tamesis, the risk management and trading solutions firm .
Benson will work with the executive directors and senior
management of the company to guide current operations with specific emphasis
on the overall development strategy and positioning of Tamesis products.
He joins Tamesis from HSBC Bank.

**Brookes in as Mellon international communications manager**
Mellon Global Investments has appointed Jamie Brookes as international corporate communications manager.
Brookes will be based in London and manage media relations for the asset management businesses in the UK (Newton Investment Management, MGI and Mellon Global Alternative Investments) and broaden MGI’s international profile in the UK, US, Middle East and Australia.
He joins from LeggMason Investors, where he was responsible for marketing and corporate communications.

**LAMBERT TO HEAD BROKER RESEARCH AT PICTET**
Patrick Lambert has been appointed as head of the institutional brokerage research department at Pictet & Cie in Geneva.
Lambert will be in charge of developing and co-ordinating the bank’s European and sector research.
Volkan Göcmen, assistant head of the institutional brokerage research unit has been appointed head of Swiss market research.

**SCOTTISH LIFE BUILDS RELATIONSHIP WITH MELDRUM**
Derek Meldrum has been hired as relationship manager for Scottish Life’s third party administration business based in Edinburgh.
Meldrum will be responsible for business development and technical support and will report to Ian Buchan, business development manager.
He joins from consultant Deloitte & Touche.
