EUROPE/UK – The Oxford Institute of Ageing is organising a one day conference, hosted by Zurich Financial Services, to highlight the ways different countries approach private and public pension provision.

The conference will be held in London on November 30 and will include contributions from national pensions representatives from France, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and the US, as well as offering a perspective on EU developments in the single market and pensions.

The conference will seek to address the following three main questions:
•How are major continental European and Anglo-Saxon countries dealing with demographic, financial and political pressures on pension security ?
•To what extent are responses to these pressures redrawing the boundaries between public and private pension security?
•What are the implications of these new public-private partnerships for the financial organisation and infrastructure of European and global financial markets ?
