NETHERLANDS – Stichting Pensioen Fonds ABP, Europe’s largest pension fund, says its two-year partnership with State Street Corp. in the State Street Global Alliance has proved “very rewarding”.

Jelle Mensonides, chief investment officer of alternative investments at the Dutch civil service fund, said in a statement: "We have benefited from our partnership with State Street Global Advisors, as well as with the eight Global Alliance members.”

State Street Global Alliance is a joint venture between ABP and State Street Global Advisors. It was formed in February 2001 with the aim of teaming up with asset managers specialising in alternative investments.

ABP is a minority equity investment partner in State Street Global Alliance.

“We have been impressed with their innovative strategies and savvy in regard to asset management and alternative investing,” Mensonides said. “Their contributions have proven to be very rewarding for us."

Mensonides is also a member of the non-executive board of State Street Global Alliance.

State Street Global Alliance has eight members around the world: Advanced Investment Partners; Boston Capital Management, a holding company for Moscow-based Pallada Asset Management; Residential Capital Management; Rexiter Capital Management; SSARIS Advisors; The Tuckerman Group; BDC Asset Management and Innovest Strategic Value Advisors.
