AP3 - Chief investment officer Erik Valtonen is stepping down from his role at one of the Swedish buffer funds after 10 years at AP3. Following his departure at the end of the month, he will continue in a strategic advisor capacity to chief executive Kerstin Hessius to finalise ongoing projects and assure the continuity of the management of the fund for the first six months of 2011.

GE Asset Management
- Ed Giudice has joined in the newly created role of senior consultant relations manager. Giudice, who will be based in London, joins from Towers Watson, where he worked with institutional and pension fund clients.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management
- Jim O'Neill has been promoted to chairman of the company's asset management division, having previously been head of global economics, commodities and strategy research at the parent bank.

Forum of European Asset Managers
- Dominique Carrel-Billiard, currently chief executive of AXA Investment Managers, is stepping down from the role of chairman of FEAM and will become vice-chairman alongside Robert Higginbotham, chief executive and president of Fidelity International's European business. Elizabeth Corley will replace Billiard as chairman of the pan-European group and remain chief executive of Allianz Global Investors Europe.

Neue Leben
- Rolf-Dieter Marson is to leave the boards of management for Neue Leben's Pensionskasse, pension management division, life insurance division and accident insurance division at the end of the month. Current deputy member of the board Achim Adams will assume Marson's roles from October.

Newton Investment Management
- Mark Hammond joins as team leader of the institutional pooled funds team, while James Blake will be an account manager, reporting to Hammond. Blake has previously worked at AXA Investment Managers and Fidelity, a past employer both have in common, while Hammond has previously also worked for M&G Investment Managers.

Sacker & Partners
- The law firm has founded a governance team to advise on issues of scheme governance. It is led by partners David Saunders, Robin Simmons and Claire Carey.
