Norges Bank Investment Management – Former Robeco portfolio strategist Laurens Swinkels has joined the Norwegian central bank's asset management division as senior researcher within its investment policy department. In his new role, he will provide research for investment decisions made by the NOK3.7trn (€506bn) Norwegian Pension Fund Global. Swinkels will continue to sit on the editorial board of Netspar and also lectures at the Erasmus School of Economics in Rotterdam.

Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA) – Chief executive Sarah Alexander is to step down, joining the Abraaj Group as managing director in February. EMPEA's executive committee is to recommend to the board that Jennifer Choi, currently vice-president of industry and external affairs, serve as interim chief executive.

Meyer & Cie Allokationsberatung – The Munich-based company has hired Helmut Neumaier, formerly portfolio manager and researcher at Dr Hellerich & Co Vermögensmanagement, to strengthen its strategic and tactical asset allocation team.

Universal InvestmentRolf Bräuer has been promoted to head of institutional business, having joined the institutional sales team in 2005. Bräuer spent seven years as portfolio manager at Deka Investment, overseeing Spezialfond mandates.

KNG Securities – The fixed income specialist has appointed Thomas Saler and Gabriele Balducci to its fixed income team. Saler will focus on expanding the company's presence in the Swiss and German markets, while Balducci will develop platforms with a particular focus on interest rates and ALM strategies. Saler joins from UBS, Balducci from Merrill Lynch.  

SustainalyticsWilco van Heteren has been appointed director of the research products team, responsible for managing more than 70 analysts globally. He joins from Robeco Group, where he served as a senior engagement specialist.
