UK – Paul Trickett will join Insight Investment's board of directors, pending regulatory approval, just one week after Thomas Miller Investment confirmed the industry veteran would also join its board.

Trickett resigned from his role as head of multi-asset class and fiduciary management at Goldman Sachs Asset Management at the end of April.

In the past, he has also served as head of Towers Watson's EMEA investment practice, as well as chief executive of the British Coal Pension Schemes.

According to a statement, Trickett is to join the Insight Investment board in a non-executive role. Meanwhile, he will join Thomas Miller as a non-executive director in charge of developing the company's growth strategy.

Trickett also serves as director of the Aberforth Smaller Companies investment trust and trustee chairman for both the Zurich Financial Services UK Pension Scheme and the Legal & General WorkSave master trust, to which he was appointed recently.

Last week, he told IPE he retired from his executive roles earlier this year and was now embarking on a "portfolio career".

In other news, Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) has concluded a £63m (€74m) buy-in with the trustees of the NSPCC Pension Scheme in a deal advised by JLT.

The NSPCC said the deal would allow its trustees to "defer meeting the cost of deflation".

Steve Delo of PAN Governance and independent chair of trustees said: "We are delighted to have locked down volatility on a significant portion of our liabilities, securing those risks we deem material."
