- Lachlan French has replaced Jagdeet Bains as managing director and head of transition management for Europe and Asia (ex Japan), based in London, following Bain's departure last year for family reasons. French was most recently with State Street Global Markets Europe.

Gottex Fund Management -Brian Fullerton has been appointed as managing director at the hedge funds house as well as a member of the Gottex Research Committee, based in New York. Aberdeen Asset Managers - Hans Benenga (pictured), senior business development manager with Aberdeen in Amsterdam, has been promoted to head of business development. He succeeds Michel Alofs who will be leaving Aberdeen in March.

HSBC Investments - Simeon Brown has been officially named as the firm's UK chief executive officer. Brown had held the role of acting CEO since September 2007.

Pioneer Investments - Roger Price-Haworth (pictured) has left Insight Investment as head of UK institutional business development and global consultants to take up a newly-created role at Pioneer as head of UK institutional and wholesale business. Working closely with Kerry Duffain, global head of consultant relations, he will report to Paul Price, global head of institutional.

Cardano - Keith Guthrie is joining the London-based consultancy team from 1 February as head of the investment management team, selecting investment managers for Cardano's UK clients. He was previously co-manager of $5bn in fund of hedge fund portfolios at GAM.

Hewitt Associates - Andrew Sweeney is the new leader of the corporate pension consulting team in its Leeds office. He joins from Mercer Consulting. Also joining from Mercer is Arnold Jager, who has started in the Dutch Groningen office as a senior consultant.

Hymans Robertson - Steven Baxter has joined the firm's London office as a development actuary. He previously worked at Hewitt Associates.

Mercer - The consultant has added six people to its responsible investment (RI) consulting services. SAM's Eric Gelfgren joins Mercer's European responsible investment team as a principal, based in Stockholm. Susanna Jacobson, from Innovest, is a responsible investment analyst based in London. Moreover, Jordan Berger and Kelly Gauthier have started in the Toronto office, while Xinting Jia has joined in Melbourne, and Megumi Terayama in Tokyo.
 
Aegon Pension Network - Bill Hatten and Jeroen Bogers have joined the network, which helps companies around the world improve management of their international retirement and employee benefit plans, as new senior managers. Hatten, from MFC Global Investment Management, is regional sales director for North America, based in Boston, Massachusetts. ABN Amro's Bogers has started as product manager, based in The Hague, Netherlands.

BNP Paribas - Morgan Stanley's Nick Tranter will join BNP's London office on January 28 to head its European equity derivatives flow sales. He will also oversee the firm's equity derivatives business with UK clients.

International Financial Data Services - The transfer agency joint venture between State Street Corporation and DST Systems has appointed Money Portal's David Moffat as group executive responsible for business development for the UK market. Moffat will report to Paul Roberts, managing director.
