GLOBAL - Rotman ICPM, Aon Hewitt, LCP, PensionsFirst, State Street Corporation, Lombard Odier Investment Managers, Northern Trust

Rotman International Center for Pension Management (Rotman ICPM) - Rob Bauer, a professor of institutional investors at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, will become associate director of programmes at Rotman ICPM at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management. He has resigned from the Rotman ICPM board to focus on his new responsibilities, which include organising two discussion forums each year, case study development and representing Rotman ICPM around the world. After his 12-year career at ABP Investments as a fund manager and head of research, Bauer started an investment consultancy firm - Rob Bauer Consultants BV - in which he advises institutional investors on strategic investments.

Aon Hewitt - Werner Hertzog, who earlier this month announced his intention to leave the CHF33bn (€25.4bn) pension fund Publica, will join Aon Hewitt as managing director for its Swiss operation. He replaces Daniel Thomann, who will now oversee the consultancy's business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Hertzog has been with Publica since 2004 and holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Fribourg.

LCP - Martin Slack, a senior partner at the consultancy, is set to retire on 31 March. Slack has worked at LCP for his entire professional career, serving as a member of the Occupational Pensions Board (1992-1997) and chairman of the Association of Consulting Actuaries (1998-2000). He will continue to work with LCP on a consultancy basis. Bob Scott, who has been with the company since 1982, will take over as senior partner from 1 April.

PensionsFirst - The company has added three actuaries to its expanding team: Matthew Furniss and Robert Heathcoat, who join from Punter Southall, and Chris Hoffman, who worked for the Pension Protection Fund, where he was involved in valuation coding, in-house IT projects and seminars on PPF Section 143. All join as assistant vice-presidents.

State Street Corporation - Cornelia Keth has joined the company as head of sales and account management for its outsourcing business in Germany, effective 1 January 2011. She joins from Bank of New York Mellon, where she was most recently in charge of sales and relationship management, marketing and network management at BHF Asset Servicing. Keth has held key positions in custody and fund administration for more than 20 years, working at institutions including Dresdner Bank and Deutsche Bank.

Lombard Odier Investment Managers - Marius Wuergler has been appointed head of European sales for the asset management business of Lombard Odier, effective 9 May 2011. He will be responsible for the sales strategy and implementation for both institutional and fund distribution clients across Europe, including the UK. He joins from Goldman Sachs, which he joined in 2005 as head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management Switzerland. Prior to that, he spent more than six years at Credit Suisse, where he was first a portfolio manager in emerging market debt before being made head of asset management sales in the Middle East.

Northern Trust - Kristina Ilar has joined as investment sales director for Northern Trust Global Investments, the international multi-asset class asset management arm of Northern Trust. She will be based in Northern Trust's new Stockholm office. Northern Trust recently received approval from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority and the UK Financial Services Authority to offer asset management services in the region.
