UK - Four Winds Capital, the alternatives boutique which recently established a London office, is looking for a secondary $100m in equity fundraising for timber fund, Phaunos.
Phaunos is a closed-ended investment company listed on AIM in London. It has already committed or provisionally allocated an estimated 95% of current assets under management, including $30m to an investment partnership investing in the northwestern US that focuses on intensively managed hybrid poplar tree farms.
Phaunos has engaged a consulting firm specialising in Eastern European forestry investments to assist its plan there.
It is anticipated that the fundrasing, open to institutional investors, will close on May 24.
Current clients of Four Winds include Swedish investor, Kapan, the London Pension Fund Authority and F&C.
