GLOBAL - Aon Hewitt, James Caird Asset Management, The Carbon Disclosure Project

Aon Hewitt - Yvan Legris has been appointed chief executive of Aon Hewitt's EMEA operations, while Andy Cox will oversee the company's business in Ireland and the UK. Legris, who was most recently president of global consulting at Hewitt, joined Hewitt in 1985 as an actuary in London, eventually heading up the company's operations in the West Indies. Cox, who will report to Legris, joined Hewitt 20 years ago and has held a number of positions at UK and global level, including head of global benefits consulting. The deal bringing together Aon and Hewitt closed on 1 October, creating a $4.3bn (€3.1bn) global organisation.

James Caird Asset Management - Ian Newton and Matthew Addison have joined JCAM from the special situations team at Cheyne Capital. Newton has more than 17 years' experience in special situations investment management, with extensive experience in risk arbitrage and event-driven opportunities. Addison's focus is on event-driven equities, merger arbitrage and stressed/distressed debt strategies. Newton and Addison will join recent hires Ali Satrap, Harald Hendrikse, Alastair Gilmour and Pieter Staelens in JCAM's London office.

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) - Paul Simpson has taken on the role of chief executive at the not-for-profit organisation. Simpson, who was promoted from chief operating officer, will replace Paul Dickinson, who has become executive chairman at the CDP. In his new role, Simpson - who has been with the CDP for nine years - will focus on globalising programmes in all major economies, increasing the quality of data reported by companies and accelerating the business response to mitigate climate change.
