Union Investment - Frank Engels is to take over as head of fixed income portfolio management in January. He will succeed Christian Eckert, who is to leave at the end of the year. Engels has worked at Union in the past, as head of emerging market debt from June 2008 to September 2010. He moved to Barclays Capital in October 2010, where he was global head of its asset allocation strategy and co-head of European economic research.

AllenbridgeEpicInvestment Advisers - Philip Hebson has joined AllenbridgeEpic, an investment adviser for UK pension funds, as a senior adviser. Hebson joined the Merseyside Pension Fund in 2000 as head of UK equities. Since 2010, he has been providing independent specialist advice to quoted companies in the areas of corporate governance, investor relations and business structure.

Aon Hewitt - Issiah Sakhabuth has joined the consultancy's global benefits practice in London. She joins from KPMG, where she was an international pensions specialist in the UK tax and pensions division. In her new role, she will focus on global mobility total benefit solutions, in particular on the design and implementation of global pension plans for expatriates.

Institutional Shareholder Services - Georgina Marshall has been appointed head of European research. She is currently regional head of corporate governance at Aviva Investors. Before joining Aviva, she worked at Swiss Re and Mercantile and General Re Insurance. She will start in her new role in January, based in London.

Unigestion - Michel Bernard has been appointed director of institutional clients in the UK. He joins from F&C Asset Management, where he was head of UK business development and head of UK client relations. He has also held senior positions at Nomura, UBS and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Ignis Asset Management - Liisa Juntunen is set to join the institutional business development team in January, focusing on consultant relations. She joins from AllianceBerstein, where she was responsible for marketing and sales, product development and consultant relations. 

Oddo Asset Management - Alain Meyer has been appointed head of institutional client sales for Switzerland, focusing on the German-speaking regions of the country. Meyer most recently worked at Wellington Management in London, with experience at Goldman Sachs Asset Management between 2006 and 2009.
 
JP Morgan Asset Management - Monique Stephens has joined as a client adviser on the UK institutional team. She joins from Invesco Perpetual, where she was institutional sales manager. She has also worked at Fidelity International and Schroder Investment Management.

State Street International Ireland - Finbarr Downing has been appointed head of compliance, joining from Northern Trust, where he served as head of fund and regulatory compliance. Downing will oversee the existing compliance team in Kilkenny, Jersey and Guernsey.

MFS Investment Management - Victoria Higley has been appointed institutional portfolio manager for global equities. She joins from Fidelity International, where she was a relationship director for UK clients. She has also held analyst and portfolio management roles at UBS Asset Management.

Kames Capital - Greg Mackay has joined the fixed income team as investment manager. He joins from Nationwide Building Society, where he was head of a team responsible for the society's liquidity book and interest rate risk.
