Prasa, a leading Swiss advisory group, is commencing a statistical survey on the liabilities of the country's pension schemes.

Over a three year period, 10 major Swiss funds will supply Prasa with data on 250,000 insured members.

The survey aims to provide pension schemes with precise mortality and invalidity rates to enable them to calculate more accurately their retirement contributions and provisions.

The most recent survey of this kind is now over ten years old and since then the probabilities of death and disability may have changed considerably.

The legal rate of conversion may also be reduced from 7.2% to 6.65% in the upcoming revision of the Swiss law on pension schemes.
