Alineke van den Berge-Blindenbach has been appointed as chief executive officer of APG Asset Management.

Van den Berge-Blindenbach has extensive leadership experience, including previous roles at ABN AMRO. She joined APG Asset Management in 2023 as chief operating officer and has also served as CEO ad interim since March 2026. She is a member of the executive committee of APG Group.

The appointment of Van den Berge-Blindenbach follows APG’s renewed strategy announced at the end of 2025, which centres around two strong business units – pension services and asset management.

It marks an important step in the transformation of APG Asset Management, which will focus exclusively on managing pension assets for ABP from 2030 onwards, the firm said in a statement.

With her experience in transformation and execution, she is well-positioned to lead the organisation into its next phase.

“Alineke has contributed to shaping the renewed strategy and will now continue its implementation, ensuring continuity and stability.”

In her role as COO, Van den Berge-Blindenbach is responsible for data, IT and operations. She will continue to fulfil the COO role until a successor has been appointed, ensuring continuity, according to APG.
