Aon, Bridges, PPF

Pension Protection Fund (PPF) – Richard Beaven has been appointed acting chief executive officer for the UK’s lifeboat fund, following the departure of Michelle Ostermann, who has stepped down after two years in the role.
Ostermann will now refocus on pensions at a global level, alongside her role as chair of the International Centre for Pension Management.
Beaven, currently chief operating officer, will also join the PPF board as executive director and will oversee the fund’s strategic and operational priorities during the transition period, working closely with the board and executive team to maintain stability and focus across the PPF’s activities.
Before joining the PPF, Beaven was the managing director of an insurance broking business running day-to-day operations and accountable for a programme of acquisitions. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles across the financial services sector, including positions at Thomson Reuters, Lloyds Banking Group and Brightside Insurance.
Aon – The firm has announced that Sindhu Krishna has joined as a partner and head of sustainability for investment consulting in the UK.
In this new role at Aon, Krishna will advise clients on sustainability, including investment strategy and implementation, fund manager selection and specific sustainability solutions.
Krishna joins Aon after 14 years with Standard Life, where she was chief sustainable investment officer, building the group’s sustainable investment function and delivering on the integration of climate, nature and social factors across major investment portfolios.

Separately, George Attard has been named global head of analytics for reinsurance solutions, in addition to his role as chief strategy officer for reinsurance solutions, reinforcing Aon’ commitment to delivering differentiated value to insurer clients through integrated analytics and strategy across its reinsurance business.
Attard will be responsible for accelerating the development and utilisation of the firm’s reinsurance analytics capabilities, helping insurers navigate volatility, optimise capital, and make better decisions through the market cycle. He will continue to unite Aon’s data, technology, and more than 1,000 reinsurance analytics professionals to accelerate the firm’s innovation roadmap, and will report to the leadership of reinsurance solutions.
In his new capacity, Attard will work alongside Paul Shedden, who will remain global head of advanced risk analytics across all solution lines and continue overseeing enterprise‑wide analytics strategy and delivery, with the two collaborating to drive innovation across reinsurance broking and analytics capabilities.
Bridges Fund Management – The firm has taken on the specialist climate technology investment team from HSBC Asset Management.
Led by Christophe Defert and Mike D’Aurizio, the team – now Bridges Climate Transition Partners – will continue the management of existing Climate Growth Partners fund, which has already made 11 investments.
HSBC AM will remain a limited partner and maintain its existing capital commitment in the fund, and also intends to be an anchor investor in a successor fund, to be established and managed by Bridges in due course.
