EUROPE - BVS, PensionsFirst Capital, Nomura, Insight Investment, Janus Capital, Sackers.

BVS - The Zurich cantonal pension regulator has seen current head Erich Peter depart. Benedikt Häfliger, currently deputy director, will take charge of the occupational pensions mandate, with Monica Leuenberger taking overall charge of the agency.

PensionsFirst Capital - Hugo James has been appointed chief executive at PensionsFirst Capital, the de-risking unit of PensionsFirst Group. James previously worked as a managing director in fixed income at Credit Suisse.

Nomura Asset Management - Simon Cartwright has been appointed to the newly created position of global head of consultant relations at the UK arm of the investment manager. He comes to Nomura from a role at Hermes Fund Management.

Insight Investment
- Paul Lambert will join the asset management firm as head of currency, starting the new job in September. He will be responsible for the £283m (€359m) Absolute Insight Currency Fund, which is co-managed by Max Wahl. Lambert is presently head of currency at UBS Global Asset Management. At Insight Investment, he will report to head of fixed income Adrian Grey.

Janus Capital International
- Matthew Nagele is joining the international arm of Janus Capital Group as its head of the UK for Janus Capital's European business. He will be based in the London office, and report to Augustus Cheh, chief executive of Janus Capital International. Before this, Nagele was managing director of Castle Trust. This followed a period as managing director of distribution at Old Mutual Asset managers.

Sackers - Fuat Sami has been promoted to partner within the firm's pension law unit. His caseload has in the past seen him advise on anti-avoidance matters brought by the Pensions Regulator, as well as scheme mergers and liability reduction programmes.
