NETHERLANDS - SPF Beheer, which manages €12.1bn for the Dutch railways pension fund SPF, has promoted Marcel Andringa to replace head of investments John van Markwijk.

Van Markwijk announced last year, together with his colleague Jan Karstanje, he would join software developer and consultancy Ortec Finance as a managing director. Karstanje has taken on the position of senior advisor.

Andringa had worked for SPF Beheer as head of strategy and policy until now.

Last week, the SPF fund said it has recently signed up for the Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

SPF, one of the funds that was criticised by last year's infamous Zembla news documentary on Dutch funds and their unethical investment practices, said it will now adhere to the guidelines the PRI gives to investors in relation to responsible investing.
