NETHERLANDS - Pensions consultant Hans Swagten has been appointed director of Akkermans & Partners research bureau.

Swagten, 50, succeeds David Wildemans, who is continuing his career on a freelance basis, Akkermans announced.

Swagten was previously a fiscal legal adviser at life assurer De Goudse. He had earlier worked for the Tilburg-based Akkermans & Partners Group for seven years.

The scientific bureau was established in 2006 to carry out research for the company's projects and to co-operate with other research centres, Akkermans said.

In addition, it bureau participates in the national and international pensions debate, it added.
