GLOBAL - UBS, Capital Cranfield Trustees, Hermes, Redington, UBS, IMA, Barings AM, MFS Investment Management, RWC Partners, Ignis AM, Russell Investments, Northern Trust

UBS Investment Bank - A specialist team has been created within the FICC (fixed income, currencies and commodities) EMEA Insurance & Pensions Industry Group. The FICC EMEA pensions team all previously worked together at Paternoster and the new line-up has Tesula Mohindra as managing director and Ian Aley as an executive director, focusing on business development and reporting to Mahnaz Safa, co-head of debt capital markets, EMEA. David Still is executive director and Tim Coulson is a director with a focus on actuarial and pricing activities. They will report to Andrea Sambo, head of private side structuring, EMEA.

Capital Cranfield Trustees - David Bright has succeeded Mike Anthony as chairman of the board at Capital Cranfield Holdings, following the end of Anthony's three-year term as group chairman. However, Anthony will remain with Capital Cranfield as a senior client director, while Judith Maguire will take over Bright's previous role as chairman of the trustee firm's active business.

Hermes Fund Managers - Hermes Equity Ownership Services (HEOS) has made its first move into private equity with the appointment of Tom Rotherham as associate director, private equity. Rotherham joined Hermes from Radley Yeldar, where he held the position head of corporate responsibility. Rotherham will lead the team advising investors in private equity on improving environmental, social and governance standards. 

Redington - David Bennett (pictured, right) has been appointed as a director in the investment consulting team, to devise investment strategies and provide advice on asset and liability management. He joined from Goldman Sachs where he held a variety of roles including seven years in the pension and insurance strategy group.

Investment Management Association (IMA) - Douglas Ferrans, chairman of Invista Real Estate Investment Management, has taken over as chairman of the IMA from Robert Jenkins. Jenkins has left the organisation to become CEO and managing partner of Combinatorics Capital LLC. Other changes at the IMA include the appointment of Bob Yerbury, senior managing director of Invesco Ltd and CIO of Invesco Perpetual, as deputy chairman, while Alan Brown, group CIO at Schroders, has also joined the IMA Board.

RWC Partners - Lakshman Harendran has joined the company's convertible bond team from Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he was a member of the fixed income team. Harendran will work with Esther Watt and Michelle Shi who are analysts within the team led by Davide Basile, head of convertible bonds.

Ignis Asset Management - Tim Roberts has been appointed to the role of chief operating officer. Roberts was a partner at McKinsey & Company, and will also sit on both the group's asset management executive committee and the Ignis board.

MFS Investment Management - The firm has boosted its equity analyst team in London with the appointment of Stuart McPherson and Ward Griffiths, while Nicole Neubelt has joined the institutional product management team as vice president director of product management. McPherson was at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, while Griffiths previously worked at Citigroup. They will both act as members of the firm's global research platform, while Neubelt, who joined from Northern Trust Global Advisers, will be responsible for communicating investment policy, strategy and portfolio positioning.

Baring Asset Management - Colin Ng has been given a new position as head of Asian equities. He joined from MFC Global Investment Management and will report to Henry Chan, head of Asia Pacific Investment.

Russell Investments - Stephen Metcalfe has been appointed as a consultant in the firm's consulting and advisory services team. He was previously at Friends Provident where he worked as a consultant in the asset liability management team.

Northern Trust - Paul Guilbert is to head up the firm's Jersey office in the Channel Islands, overseeing all aspects of service delivery to clients receiving offshore fund administration. He will also retain a previous role as head of the global private equity fund administration business in the Channel Islands.
