PensionDanmark - Karsten Dybvad, managing director of the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), has been voted in as the new deputy chairman of PensionDanmark’s board of directors (trustees, not management) at the labour-market pension fund’s AGM. Dybvad replaces DI’s former managing director Hans Skov Christensen in the role. Elsewhere on the board, Jørgen Juul Rasmussen, chairman of electricians’ trade union Dansk El-Forbund, is taking the place of Johnny Skovengaard, deputy chairman of Denmark’s biggest trade union 3F.

Atkin & Co - Verity Pedley and Aimee Aspinall have joined the pension scheme administrator and actuarial consultant’s administration team. Pedley has substantial experience in dealing with defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans, specialising particularly in schemes in wind-up. Aspinall previously worked for the Department for Work and Pensions and has experience in state benefit claims.

Towers Watson - Rory O’Brien has joined the consultancy as global risk consulting and software leader, effective immediately. He replaces Steve Taylor-Gooby, who is stepping down after 25 years at the company. O’Brien joined from EMB, the risk consulting and software firm acquired by Towers Watson earlier this year. At EMB, he was managing partner responsible for implementing global strategy. Before then, he served as group chief executive at Guardian Holdings.

Pension Protection Fund (PPF) - Arnold Wagner OBE and Baroness Diana Warwick are set to join the PPF’s board as non-executive directors. Wagner retired from his role as director of human resources at Smiths Group in October 2009. Before that, he was director of personnel at Bunzl. Warwick is currently chair of the Human Tissue Authority. Before that, she was chief executive of Universities UK for 14 years. The PPF has also extended Christopher Hughes’s contract by an extra year. He has been a non-executive board member for the last six years

Euroclear Finland - The board has appointed Anso Thiré as chief executive and Hanna Vainio as deputy chief executive of the Finnish central securities depository. Thiré will also serve as chairman of the executive management group of Euroclear Finland, while continuing in his role as chief executive of Euroclear Sweden, a position he assumed in November 2008. The appointments are effective immediately, and the necessary approvals have been obtained from the Financial Supervisory Authority of Finland.

State Street Ireland - Robert Rushe has been appointed head of exchange-traded products servicing in Ireland. Rushe will be responsible for the overall ETP product offering for new and existing clients covering exchange-traded funds, exchange-traded notes and exchange-traded certificates. He joins from Bank of Ireland Securities Services, where he was a member of the team responsible for the creation of Ireland’s first ETF product in 2000.

BNP Paribas Investment Partners - Gilles Guérin has been appointed chief executive of company’s recently formed partner THEAM. In his new role, Guérin will manage THEAM, which combines BNP Paribas Asset Management’s SIGMA teams and those of BNP Paribas CIB’s Harewood Asset Management. THEAM specialises in index, active systematic, guaranteed and alternative investment solutions.

Ernst & Young - The consultancy has appointed two asset management specialists. Howard Mannion joins as partner, while Valerie Nott joins as director in the UK asset management arm of the business. Both previously held senior positions at Citisoft, a leading investment management consultancy.
