NETHERLANDS - The Dutch central bank and pension supervisor, DNB, has appointed Joanne Kellermann as its new director.
She replaces the late Dirk Witteveen, who died last month at the age of 58, following a long period of illness.
Kellermann will be responsible for supervising the pension funds, insurers, trust- and money transaction offices and investment corporations, the DNB announced today.
Kellermann has been working for the central bank since 2005 as general counsel and division-director for legal affairs.
A spokesman for the bank told IPE today that Kellermann was appointed, because "she is most suitable for the position".
