AP Pension in Denmark is changing the composition of its senior management so that responsibility for transformation, strategy and employee development is anchored directly under its executive board.

As such, current deputy director for HR, strategy and transformation, Janni Bové Schou, will join the executive board as chief strategy officer. At the same time, it has been agreed that chief operating officer Henrik Engmark will step down and leave AP Pension.

Schou joined AP Pension in 2019 and has since been part of the company’s management with responsibility for, among other things, HR and strategy. With the promotion, she will have her current area of responsibility extended to also cover communication and marketing as well as social responsibility, it was announced.

“We are facing perhaps the biggest transformation in AP Pension’s history, and our most important asset, and the key to future success, are the employees. That is why we wanted to anchor HR and transformation directly in the executive board,” said Bo Normann Rasmussen, AP Pension’s chief executive officer.

“There are a number of advantages associated with being able to recruit from one’s own ranks, so I am incredibly happy that Janni has agreed to this opportunity. Janni knows AP Pension well, and is already closely involved in our work with transformation and culture, so I am convinced that she is a very good match,” Normann Rasmussen added.

On Engmark’s exit, Normann Rasmussen said: “Henrik has made a great effort in AP Pension over the past three years, and among other things has had a central role in the integration of Skandia, which was completed last summer. Henrik has also been responsible for researching the market and finding the right supplier for AP Pension’s new core system. I would like to say a big thank you to Henrik for his efforts and wish him luck in the future”.

Engmark’s areas of responsibility are being split between the other members of the executive board, with Norman Rasmussen taking over responsibility for sales, while Jette Haarup Jensen, who took over as digital director on 1 August, will oversee customer care.
