Investment Metrics, a Connecticut-headquartered provider of analytics, reporting, benchmarking and other solutions for the institutional investment market, has acquired well-known factor and ESG exposure analytics provider Style Analytics.

In a statement, Investment Metrics said the combined organisation would “create the new industry standard for performance and attribution analysis, peer benchmarking, and straight-through reporting across all institutional asset pools”.

Brent Burns, CEO of Investment Metrics, which has more than $10trn (€8.1trn) in assets under administration, said: “We believe our complementary solutions will bring significant value to our clients as they increasingly rely on analytics solutions to support their portfolio allocation decisions and as ESG exposure has become an important portfolio metric.”

Sebastien Roussette, CEO of Boston- and London-based Style Analytics, also cited the firms’ complementary solutions, and said that joining Investment Metrics would allow Style Analytics to bring greater value to its clients and speed up its growth.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Investment Metrics is backed by Resurgens Technology Partners, a software-focused private equity firm, and HarbourVest Partners. Style Analytics was a portfolio company of Horizon Capital LLP, a London-based private equity firm that invests in high-growth technology and business services companies.

The news of the Investment Metrics-Style Analytics combination comes after asset management consultancy MJ Hudson last week announced it had acquired private markets analytics firm PERACS.
