EUROPE – Northern Trust Global Investments (NTGI) in London has bolstered its position in transition management with the appointment of Kevin Hardy as European head.

In a newly created role, Hardy will be European director of transition management at NTGI in London, and will run the existing transition management product and service offering to institutional clients. He will also be responsible for driving product development and build the business strategically.

Hardy will report dually to Eoin Murray, NTGI’s head of quantitative management for Europe, who is based in London, and Jeff Blanchard, NTGI’s global head of transition management at Northern Trust’s headquarters in Chicago.

Commenting on the appointment, Murray said: “It is a key initiative in NTGI’s strategy to grow its transition management products and services in Europe, and build on the momentum following Northern Trust’s acquisition of Deutsche Bank’s global passive and enhanced index capabilities earlier this year.”

Prior to joining NTGI, Hardy was head of global structured products group at State Street Global Advisers. He has also worked for Legal and General Investment Management as a fund manager.
