LONDON - A specialist property investment website, UK Property Investment Pages ( UKPiP.com) has been launched by a co-operative of 15 of the UK’s property surveyors. The site contains between £250m-£300m (€394m-€473m) of available commercial property across the UK and allows investors access to quick and easy investment opportunities.
"The agents involved have a variety of different properties that could be attractive to institutional investors and pension funds alike. We would ideally like to see a situation where they not only used the site for investment purposes but also to place their properties," says marketing director, Michael Green in London.
The site is formally launched, and is already looking to expand with several potential new agencies interested in joining.
The site allows access to finance and other related services and investors will be able to maintain portfolios of properties on the site. Green says that "new property funds could be created via member agents and this is an exciting area of future development." On-line trading is another feature that could be added at a later date.
The site was established by the agents themselves in response to the growing importance and influence of the internet. "It is purely an adjunct to traditional marketing techniques but on the internet exposure to wider markets is practically immediate," says Green. "But the aim is to keep it simple and effective. We established the site because existing ones were too complicated to use."
The 15 member agencies are Edgerley Simpson Howe, Fineman Ross, Franc Warwick, Hodnett Martin Smith, Holly Blake, Joiner Cummings, Lewis & Partners, Lewis Ellis, Lewis Marks, Matthews & Goodman, Michael Elliot, Millar Kitching, Morgan Loggie, Morgan Williams and Taylor Wells.
Stuart Loggie of Morgan Loggie says that "the site provides a fantastic opportunity for investors to have instant access to the complete range of properties straight from the agents and there is unrestricted access to the database for all visitors."
