NETHERLANDS – Blue Sky Group, which manages the pension assets of airline KLM, has named Toine van der Stee as its new managing director.

Van der Stee joins on August 1 to take over from Han Thoman who retires on September 1.

Van der Stee has been a director at Interpolis NV since 2001, where he is at present director large businesses, Interpolis Pensions.

Before this he worked for the Dutch Ministry of Finance and as director at Robeco Institutional Asset Management.

Last week IPE reported that Blue Sky Group, had recruited Marga Ruitenbeek from the Dutch financial markets regulator for a new position within its investment team.

She would focus on account management and marketing of the group’s investment management services, a new role.

And Blue Sky was also among a number of Dutch institutions that have set up a group to lobby listed companies to improve corporate governance.
